Arrowsmith, Sue is Achilles Professor of Public Procurement Law and Policy at the University of Nottingham, and Director of its Public Procurement Research Group and postgraduate Executive Programme in Public Procurement Law and Policy. Her books include The Law of Public and Utilities Procurement; (with Linarelli and Wallace) Regulating Public Procurement; and Government Procurement in the WTO. In 1992 she launched the journal Public Procurement Law Review. In 2007 she was awarded the CIPS Swinbank Medal for thought innovation in purchasing and supply. She has taught university modules on procurement since 1995 and has worked for inter alia, the OGC, UN, WTO, European Commission, OECD, EU, European Central Bank, ILO and the Law Commission.

Barnett, Michael L. is Professor of Strategy and Head of the Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and International Business Group, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. He is also Fellow in Management at St. Anne’s College. Mike has management experience as a commissioned officer in the US Air Force where he served as Squadron Section Commander and Executive Officer at McConnell AFB. Mike’s current research investigates why some firms do ‘good’ things (such as environmental betterment), why some firms avoid doing ‘bad’ things (such as using child labour), and how well external governance systems, (such as markets, activist groups and consumers) encourage ‘good’ firm behaviours and discourage ‘bad’ behaviours.

Cranmer, Laurence is an Associate Fellow, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford and a member of the Oxford-Achilles Working Group on Corporate Social Responsibility. He has over 20 years of experience as a consultant and lecturer primarily in Central Government. Clients have included Buying Solutions (HM Treasury), Ministry of Defence and Metropolitan Police Service. He has been an Associate with Atos Consulting, part of the Public Services Group, KPMG Consulting, and a Senior Lecturer, Civil Service College. Laurence’s research interests include analysing the scope of corporate responsibility. Laurence also teaches on the MSc module ‘International Business Ethics’, Birkbeck, University of London.

d’Arville, Lucy is the Director of Achilles Carbon Reduction programme which is focused on helping organisations measure, manage and reduce their and their suppliers’ carbon emissions. The programme was short-listed in the 2009 EDIE Environmental Excellence Awards for Carbon Reduction. Prior to this role, Lucy worked closely with Achilles’ Executive and Board defining the strategic plan and growth priorities for Achilles. For four years prior to this, Lucy worked as a Management Consultant at Bain and Company in the Australian and Japanese offices. She has a diverse industry experience across Telecommunications, Financial Services, Retail and Industrial Products. Lucy has co-authored a number of papers on the macroeconomic impacts of regulatory trade reform.

Donaldson, Fiona

Fletcher, Glen is a specialist consultant on the application of EU procurement policy.

He has worked for over 20 years for energy businesses and for the UK Treasury and now directs EU procurement business for Achilles, where he advises over 500 public and private sector businesses. With pressure on costs and increased risk of legal challenge under more complex EU legislation he believes that it is time for professional purchasers to use their practical knowledge of ‘EU risk’ to ensure best commercial outcomes.

Mackenzie, Alistair is Director, Oil & Gas at Achilles Group.

Alistair has some 30 years experience working in Oil & Gas for major Operators and for large Service Providers to the industry. He has previously been the Procurement Manager for a major multi–national Operator and Managing Director of a support services company in the sector. He was an industry appointed representative involved in the establishment of the First Point Assessment Limited service which is now provided by Achilles. Alistair is a Commissioner of the Northern Lighthouse Board and is a Non-Executive Member of Aberdeen Harbour Board.

Maund, Colin is CEO of supplier management service provider, Achilles Group.

Colin has worked for many major public and private sector organisations including HM Treasury and the CBI, where he specialised in EC procurement legislation. Previously, he was on the Publishers Board of the Journal of the EC Public Contract Law and the UK Representative to UNICE, and represented the views of the industry to the House of Lords Committee of Enquiry on Public Procurement. More recently, he has become a member of the European Commission Advisory Committee on the Opening-Up of Public Procurement.

Molina, Carmen is Director, Products and Marketing

New, Steve is a Lecturer in Operations Management at the Said Business School and a Fellow of Hertford College, University of Oxford. He has published widely in the field of supply chain management, and works as a consultant for a wide range of organisations in the private, public and charity sectors. His current work focuses on provenance and traceability in supply chains. He is a Programme Director at Said’s Centre for Corporate Reputation.

Peters, Heinz-Gerd is Head of Sustainable Development and Environment in the Corporate Responsibility Department of Deutsche Telekom AG. Dr Peters studied economics and business administration at the University of Bochum, Germany. After completing a Trainee Programme in the Steel Industry, he wrote his thesis at the University of Bochum about German and US-American trade associations. During this time he had the opportunity for internships in the European Parliament in Brussels, the National Planning Association in Washington DC, and worked as staff for a member of the German Parliament. Dr Peters has worked in procurement since 1996, moving to the Group Headquarters, Deutsche Telekom in 2003 and took over the current position in 2009.
